    Find your date

The mandate has started. Your business is next.

Fawtara is being applied in stages, and the Tax Authority confirms who is included and when. Three questions to find out where you stand — no email required.

Is your business registered for VAT in Oman?

You are likely in Phase 1 — live now.

The Tax Authority notified this group directly. If you received that notification you are almost certainly in scope already. Confirm with the Authority, then talk to us about what running it properly looks like.

You are likely already in scope.

Your size places you in the early group. Preparation should be underway now — starting late is what creates delays, rejected invoices and penalties.

You are in scope, and your turn is coming.

The Tax Authority sets the exact date for your group. What we can tell you is that preparation takes months, that everyone will move at once when the date is announced, and that businesses which start now avoid the delays and penalties that come with starting late. Register with us today and we begin immediately.

You may not be in scope yet.

Fawtara currently follows VAT registration. If you cross the registration threshold, you come into scope. Worth watching rather than acting on.

We can find out for you.

Confirming which phase applies is the first thing we do in a consultation, at no cost — whether or not you go on to work with us.

Your obligation is confirmed by the Oman Tax Authority. Whatever your position, preparing early costs nothing and waiting does.

    Two services, one team

The connection, and everything behind it.

Most businesses take both, because the e-invoicing connection only works as well as the bookkeeping feeding it. You can take one.

Dhara Tax — your connection to Fawtara

Issuing and receiving on Peppol · conversion to PINT OM (XML/UBL 2.1) and PDF/A-3 · validation before submission · reporting invoice tax data to the Authority · secure archiving with a full audit trail · rejection monitoring, so we watch and fix rather than you.

Dhara ACCT — the books behind the invoices

Bookkeeping and monthly management accounts · VAT registration and filing · corporate income tax filing · fractional CFO advisory.

One team, one view of your numbers. Nothing is missed between vendors, because there's only one.

None of this is difficult once it's set up. The difficulty is setting it up in the last month before your deadline, at the same time as everyone else.

    FAQ

    Questions we're asked most.

When does this apply to my business?

It depends on your size. The Tax Authority began with a first group of large taxpayers, whom it notified directly, and is extending the requirement to all VAT-registered businesses in stages — most SMEs among them. The Authority confirms each group's date, so confirm your own position with them; we help you do that at no cost. Whatever your date turns out to be, the preparation behind it takes months, which is why we recommend starting now rather than waiting to be told.

Can I keep sending PDF invoices?

Not an ordinary PDF. The notified formats are PINT OM XML (UBL 2.1) and PDF/A-3 — the latter being a PDF with the structured invoice data embedded inside it, so it's both machine-readable and human-readable. A flat PDF isn't compliant. You can still send one to your customer for convenience alongside the compliant file.

Do I have to change my accounting software?

Usually not. Most common systems can be connected. We'll tell you honestly if yours can't be.

How long does getting ready take?

For a business with clean books and a standard system, weeks. With a backlog, incomplete customer records or an unusual system, months. That range is why we recommend starting as soon as you can rather than waiting for your date — the work is the same, but done under pressure it costs more and goes wrong more often.

    What does it cost?

It depends on your invoice volume and whether you take bookkeeping alongside the connection. We quote after the free assessment, not before — quoting blind wouldn't be honest.
